In the winter a ski area operates on the peak's east slope, with chairlifts reaching almost to the top. In summer, the summit area of Mount Spokane can be reached by automobile on a good, paved road. So it is not surprising that this forested dome is an important local landmark and the centerpiece of a large and popular state park. Mount Spokane is the only county high point peak in the United States with the same name as its county, as well as the largest city in its county. I'd also like to encourage you all to get involved and volunteer with the parks, we need it. I've really appreciated meeting more of you and having the opportunity to become a part of this cool community. If this is the last time I get out there this year, I'd like to thank everybody for this amazing season. I hope you have a wonderful rest your day and we hope to see ya out on the trails. I don't know what the future holds for more grooming, but if the stars align, Juan or I may just get out there some more. I hope this news makes your day, now get out there and mess those trails up while you can. There's still a lot of snow out there, albeit not the most amazing snow but still a lot and most of the trails cleaned up rather well. So we made the most of it and got some training in for him and in the process cleaned some trails up for all you fine folks. Gooooood mornings to ya's!!! Juan Grande and I hit some of the trails this morning to take a look at some problem areas that are in desperate need of some trimming this summer.
